Andrés Lamoliatte (Santiago, Chile, August 4, 1966) has served at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1996. Between 1996 and 1997 he followed
regular courses at the Diplomatic Academy Andres Bello, in Santiago, Chile . In
2000 he was appointed as Third Secretary in the Chilean Embassy in Washington,
D.C., where he worked at the Economic Section of the Embassy in charge of legal
and regulatory issues, as well as remedies. During his stay in Washington
participated in the negotiations which ended in the US-Chile Free Trade
Agreement. In February 2005 returned to Santiago and was designated in charge
of the United States and Canada desks at the North America Department in the
General Directorate of International Economic Relations (DIRECON). In May 2006
he was appointed to serve in Geneva at the Chilean Mission to the WTO. Mr.
Lamoliatte is a lawyer from the PontificiaUniversidad Católica de Chile, married
and father of three children.
Within the Mission of Chile to the WTO, Mr. Lamoliatte has responsibility over
the following areas:
